The SoulTrap caravan moved through Texas as Tree entertained the masses at SXSW. Brian Lamb was there to capture the energy and the scenery and brings you a bit of a recap vid set to the sounds of Tree’s “Stay Away” off of the MCTREEG EP

Arguably Canada’s greatest musical export, Ryan Hemsworth slaps Soundcloud with a new mix of new tracks and mashups with the crown jewel being his remis of Tree’s “ProbablyNuIt” off the MCTREEG EP. The track commences at about the 51min mark but the rest of the mix definitely deserves a thorough listen.

Check out Ryan’s description of the mix:

FIRST MIX OF 2014 AND IT FEELS GOOD TO BE BACK. THIS IS WHAT MY BRAIN FEELS LIKE AND IT’S WEIRD. LISTEN TO THIS ON HEADPHONES WHEN YOU’RE ZOOTED ON A GREYHOUND BUS HEADING HOME THINKING ABOUT HER PERFECT FACE.

Vlad TV sat down with Tree to speak on the media glorification of the violence in Chicago and some possible solutions to the social ills of Chicago living. Tree for Mayor!

Sean C and LV just dropped a wealth of music with their Loud Dreams Vol. 1 mixtape. One of the crown jewels being “Get My Money” the collab between Tree, King of the South Bun B, and new age baller 100s with a soliloquy from poetry pimp J. Ivy. GET MY MONEY UP feat Bun B, Tree, 100s & J Ivy

Look out for Paypa’s upcoming Ep “The Session”

Posted in front of Harlem’s fabled Sylvia’s Restaurant, Tree speaks with CharlieRed on the place of his soulful brand of music, Soul Trap, in Chicago’s current landscape. The city of Chicago has always been one of cultural influence, whether it be from the iconography of its storied sports franchises or from the proliferation of its musical exports on the Billboard charts. Unfortunately, the Chi is now known more for gangs than teams and its musical output is a reflection.
